The DublinTown district has 2 community policing areas; Store Street for the Northside and Pearse Street for the Southside. Each has a dedicated unit of community Gardaí.

The core functions of a Community Garda are:

• Enforcing the law by adopting appropriate measures of sanction
• Establishing and supporting community crime-prevention programmes
• Patrolling effectively to reassure the community, reduce the fear of crime, and address quality of life issues
• Working proactively in partnership with the community

Crime Prevention & Retail Security

Pearse & Store Street Station have a Crime Prevention Officer who looks at online, fraud, residential and business. The Crime Prevention Officer will do a security audit of the premises and recommend camera locations. They can also organise a briefing with your staff on best practices related to till and cash handling procedures, staff awareness, entrance amendments, etc.
