The Business Energy Upgrade Scheme (BEUS) is a government funded support scheme, covering nine measures to help businesses reduce energy costs and emissions through energy efficient upgrades, forming a vital part of Ireland's Climate Action Plan 2025  and national sustainability goals.

The rapid approval grant is aimed at all businesses, public sector, community groups and charities. The scheme is applicant driven, allowing the applicant to have full oversight and control of their grant at all stages of the process from the initial application to final payment.

How to apply

  1. Assess your needs: Decide which energy-saving measures you want to implement. Register on the application portal (select ‘Business Energy Upgrades’ from drop down list and follow steps indicated).
  2. Select a contractor: At the start of the project, contractors do not need to be registered with SEAI but must register before the work is completed and the grant payment is requested. Failure to do so will result in grant payment refusal.
  3. Complete Pre-Application Forms: Work with your selected contractor to provide technical details that is required for the application.
  4. Submit application: You’ll need to provide business details, building specifications and technical information from the Pre-Application form. Once submitted to the application portal , applications are approved instantly if compliant, with grant values calculated automatically.
  5. Project commences: Once you have receive the Letter of Offer you are free to start works when you wish.
  6. Project is completed: Ensure your contractor follows SEAI guidelines and meets all technical and competency requirements.
  7. Request payment: After completion, upload the required documentation to the SEAI portal. Grant payments are processed following SEAI review and, if applicable, inspection.
  8. Payment from SEAI: Grant payments are processed following SEAI review and, if applicable, inspection.
